Q.I am a 52-year-old female with hypertension. I am taking a generic Norvasc and I am concerned that the Norvasc can interact with my blood pressure medication. My blood pressure is stable, however, it has dropped a bit during the first couple of days of use. I have noticed that my blood pressure has stayed at a relatively normal level since the day of my first visit. I am concerned that this may be because I am taking an angiotensin receptor blocker (ARB) for my hypertension.
A.My blood pressure medication is a calcium channel blocker. I take the generic Norvasc and it does not make much difference. I am concerned about the fact that I am taking the Norvasc with a combination of blood pressure medication and a calcium channel blocker.
I have been prescribed a combination of a calcium channel blocker and an angiotensin receptor blocker for angina. I have not been prescribed this medication because it is not working. I am also concerned that if I am taking a combination of these two drugs it may interact with the Norvasc or it could cause serious side effects in my blood pressure. I have asked my doctor to stop the Norvasc and my blood pressure has dropped a bit since the first visit. I have taken Norvasc twice a day and am concerned that I may be having side effects from the combination of these two drugs. I have also been told that I should not take the Norvasc if I have angina.
I take the generic Norvasc, which comes in 5 strengths (5mg, 10mg, 20mg and 30mg). My blood pressure is stable and I am taking the generic Norvasc. I have started the Norvasc and my blood pressure has dropped a bit since the first visit.
My blood pressure medication has been taken by me for six weeks. It was at my last visit in December 2011. It was at the hospital in April 2012. I have noticed that my blood pressure is back at an average of 35/35, but it has not gone back to normal levels since the first two days. I have also noticed that I am having an increased frequency of heart attacks. I have also noticed that my heart rate is increased from a previous visit. I am concerned that if I am taking a medication that is not working well for me, the Norvasc will not work. I have also been told that I will need to see my doctor regularly and that I need to stay consistent with my blood pressure for the next six weeks.
